The Face Of Christ (El Rostro de Cristo)
Have you ever been following someone in a line where you can only see their back. As you slowly inch forward, you unconsciously form an idea of what the person looks like. Then they turn around and smile at you. And you stare for a moment because they don't look anything like the picture you formed in your imagination.
I can't tell you how many times that has happened to me. The person may be much older or much younger than I thought. Or their facial features may be different than I expected.
The last time this happened, I suddenly realized that you can tell so much about a person by simply looking at their face - approximate age, heritage, even personality to some extent. You can't tell these things by looking at someone's back.
Does this concept remind you of something in the Bible?
Then Moses said, “Now show me your glory.” And the LORD said, “I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the LORD, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. But,” he said, “you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live.” Then the LORD said, “There is a place near me where you may stand on a rock. When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by. Then I will remove my hand and you will see my back; but my face must not be seen" (Exodus 33:18-23).
God was willing to reveal Himself to Moses, but because of God's holiness, Moses, as a sinful human being, could not look upon God's face.
Moses had special favor and intimacy with God. Yet he could not have the closest intimacy of seeing God's face. He still lacked the full revelation of who God is.
Fast forward thousands of years when a very special baby was born in fulfillment of an angel's message. He was not just any baby, He was - Immanuel, God with us (Matthew 1:23). Jesus is the radiance of God's glory, and the exact representation of His being... (Hebrews 1:3). Jesus is God in visible form.
...God said, "Light up the darkness!" and our lives filled up with light as we saw and understood God in the face of Christ, all bright and beautiful (2 Corinthians 4:5-6 MSG).
Jesus came to show us God's "face." Jesus is the full revelation of who God is. (At least as much as we can grasp in this life. I believe in heaven we'll have increasingly greater understanding of God, since He is infinite.)
What does it mean to you that God sent Jesus to "show you His face"?
When you look at Jesus, what do see about who God is?
Is Jesus' face the first one you want to gaze on every day?
One of my favorite passages is the description of Jesus as He is now in heaven. Picturing that glorious face never ceases to fill me with wonder, worship and love.
I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me. And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands, and among the lampstands was someone like a son of man, dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest. The hair on his head was white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters. In his right hand he held seven stars, and coming out of his mouth was a sharp, double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance. When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: "Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever..." (Revelation 1:12-18).
El Rostro de Cristo
¿Alguna vez has estado en una fila donde solamente ves la espalda de quien está delante? Mientras adelantas muy lentamente, inconscientemente te formas una idea de cómo es la cara de la persona. Luego, se voltea y te sonríe. Y lo miras muy fijamente por un momento porque no se parece para nada al cuadro que te habías formado en tu imaginación.
No puedo contarte cuantas veces que me ha pasado. La persona puede ser mucho mayor o mucho más joven de lo que pensé.
La última vez que esto sucedió, de repente caí en cuenta que puedes decir mucho acerca de una persona mirando sencillamente su rostro – edad aproximada, herencia, hasta cierto punto hasta su personalidad. No puedes notar estas cosas mirando la espalda de alguien.
¿Este concepto te recuerda algo en la Biblia?
“Déjame verte en todo tu esplendor insistió Moisés. Y el Señor le respondió: Voy a darte pruebas de mi bondad, y te daré a conocer mi nombre. Y verás que tengo clemencia de quien quiero tenerla, y soy compasivo con quien quiero serlo. Pero debo aclararte que no podrás ver mi rostro, porque nadie puede verme y seguir con vida. "Cerca de mí hay un lugar sobre una roca añadió el Señor. Puedes quedarte allí. Cuando yo pase en todo mi esplendor, te pondré en una hendidura de la roca y te cubriré con mi mano, hasta que haya pasado. Luego, retiraré la mano y podrás verme la espalda. Pero mi rostro no lo verás” (Ex. 33:18-23).
Dios estuvo dispuesto a revelarse delante de Moisés, pero debido a Su santidad, un ser humano pecador como Moisés, no podía mirar el rostro de Dios.
Moisés tenía un favor e intimidad especiales con Dios. Sin embargo, no podía tener la más cercana intimidad de ver el rostro de Dios. Todavía le faltaba la revelación total de quien Dios es.
Adelantemos miles de años cuando nació un bebé muy especial en cumplimiento del mensaje de un ángel. Él no era simplemente cualquier bebé, era Emanuel, Dios con nosotros (Mt. 1:23). Jesús es “el resplandor de la gloria de Dios, la fiel imagen de lo que él es…” (He. 1:3). Jesús es Dios en forma visible.
“… Dios dijo: ‘¡Ilumina la oscuridad!’ y nuestras vidas se llenaron con la luz cuando vimos y entendimos a Dios en el rostro de Cristo, brillante y hermoso” (2 Co. 4:5-6, versión de "El Mensaje")
Jesús vino a mostrarnos el “rostro” de Dios. Es la revelación de quien Dios es. (Por lo menos hasta donde podemos apropiarnos en esta vida. Creo que en el cielo tendremos un entendimiento de Dios cada vez más grande, puesto que Él es infinito.)
¿Qué significa para ti que Dios envió a Jesús a “mostrarte Su rostro”?
Cuando miras a Jesús, ¿qué ves con respecto a quién es Dios?
¿Es el rostro de Jesús el primero que quieres contemplar todos los días?
Uno de mis pasajes favoritos es la descripción de Jesús como es ahora en el cielo. Imaginar ese rostro glorioso nunca deja de llenarme de asombro, alabanza y amor.
"Me volví para ver de quién era la voz que me hablaba y, al volverme, vi siete candelabros de oro. En medio de los candelabros estaba alguien "semejante al Hijo del hombre",* vestido con una túnica que le llegaba hasta los pies y ceñido con una banda de oro a la altura del pecho. Su cabellera lucía blanca como la lana, como la nieve; y sus ojos resplandecían como llama de fuego. Sus pies parecían bronce al rojo vivo en un horno, y su voz era tan fuerte como el estruendo de una catarata. En su mano derecha tenía siete estrellas, y de su boca salía una aguda espada de dos filos. Su rostro era como el sol cuando brilla en todo su esplendor. Al verlo, caí a sus pies como muerto; pero él, poniendo su mano derecha sobre mí, me dijo: "No tengas miedo. Yo soy el Primero y el 'Ultimo, y el que vive. Estuve muerto, pero ahora vivo por los siglos de los siglos…” (Ap. 1:12-18).

Impossible Wrapped In Ordinary (Lo imposible envuelto en lo común)
"For with God nothing is impossible." -Luke 1:37 (JUB)
"Jesus looked at them and said, 'With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.'" -Mark 10:27 (NIV)
When we think of God doing the impossible, we usually expect it to be dramatic - like the Red Sea parting or the sun standing still.
But sometimes when God does the impossible, it's wrapped in ordinary.
A newborn baby crying, a mother holding him...something that happens every day. Then one day it was the Son of God as a baby crying. It was the Creator held in the arms of a young woman He created.
That God would become a man is impossible. Yet He did it. Not in a dramatic descent from the skies, but in an ordinary way. He came as a baby, born like every child, with tears and pain followed by joy.
For more than 30 years Jesus walked this earth as God among men. Every moment from Jesus' conception to His ascension was God doing the impossible. Yet most of those moments came in ordinary wrapping - a baby laughing, a young boy running and playing, a Rabbi speaking to crowds, a teacher instructing His disciples....
Some people recognized that Jesus was more than a mere man. Some of them saw past the ordinary to the miraculous. How often do we?
Can we see past the ordinary wrapping to recognize the impossible things God is doing in our lives?
...giving us grace to forgive
...revealing the truth we've sought for so long
...sending provision we need the moment we need it
...making us aware of His presence with us
on and on.
Sometimes we get so caught up in the busyness of life, I think we take for granted the miracles God is doing for us every day.
Underneath so many "ordinary" experiences, if we'll look for it, is the reality of a God who still does the impossible.
Praise His name!

Lo imposible envuelto en lo común
“Porque para Dios no hay nada imposible.” –Lc. 1:37 (NVI)
“Entonces Jesús, mirándolos, dijo: Para los hombres es imposible, mas para Dios, no; porque todas las cosas son posibles para Dios.” –Mr. 10:27 (RV60)
Cuando pensamos en Dios haciendo lo imposible, con frecuencia esperamos que sea algo dramático – como abrir el Mar Rojo o que el sol se quede quieto.
Pero a veces cuando Dios hace lo imposible, viene envuelto en común.
Un recién nacido llorando, una madre sosteniéndole… algo que sucede todos los días. Luego, un día fue el Hijo de Dios llorando cuando bebé. Fue el Creador sostenido en los brazos de una joven que Él creó.
Que Dios se convirtiera en hombre es imposible. Sin embargo, lo hizo. No en un descenso dramático desde los cielos, sino en una manera común. Vino como bebé, nació como todos los niños, con lágrimas y dolor seguidos por gozo.
Por más de 30 años Jesús caminó en esta tierra como Dios entre los hombres. Cada momento desde la concepción de Jesús hasta su ascensión fue Dios haciendo lo imposible. Pero la mayoría de esos momentos vinieron en envoltura común – un bebé riendo, un niñito corriendo y jugando, un Rabino hablando a las multitudes, un maestro instruyendo a Sus discípulos…
Algunas personas reconocieron que Jesús era más que un hombre común y corriente. Algunos vieron lo milagroso más allá de lo común. ¿Con cuánta frecuencia lo hacemos nosotros?
¿Podemos ver más allá de la envoltura común y corriente para reconocer las cosas imposibles que Dios está haciendo en nuestras vidas?
… dándonos gracia para perdonar
… revelando la verdad que hemos buscado por tanto tiempo
… enviando la provisión que necesitamos en el momento en que la necesitamos
… haciéndonos conscientes de Su presencia con nosotros
Una y otra vez.
A veces nos quedamos tan atrapados en las ocupaciones de la vida, que creo que tomamos por sentados los milagros que Dios está haciendo para nosotros todos los días.
Bajo tantas experiencias “comunes,” si la buscamos, está la realidad de un Dios que todavía hace lo imposible.
¡Alabado sea Su nombre!

Some Questions For A New Year (Algunas preguntas para Año Nuevo)
I'm still praying and thinking about this new year in front of us. I believe it's filled with wonderful opportunities and adventures! I'm also pretty sure there will be challenges and difficulties. So how do we make the most of it? Are our goals for this year focused on what we will do, or on who we will become?
Here are some questions I've been thinking about. Maybe they'll be helpful for you too.
1) Who will I love?
Will I love the world and its attractions?
Will I love the ones who are hard to love?
Will I love those who treasure what is good and hate what is evil?
Will I love Jesus first and best?
2) Who will I listen to?
Will I listen to the noise of worldly media constantly telling me what to think?
Will I listen to the lies Satan whispers to my soul?
Will I listen to those who speak the truth to me in love?
Will I listen to God's voice above all else?
3) Who will I serve?
Will I serve my own selfish interests?
Will I serve others' expectations of me?
Will I serve Jesus with all I am?
Will I serve those around me with humility?
The way we answer these questions ultimately will determine the answer to this final question -
In 2017, who will I become?
I will become like the one I serve.
I will become like the one I listen to.
I will become like the one I love most.
Lord Jesus, please guide us in this new year. Teach us to pay attention to who we serve, who we listen to, and who we love. May you be first and foremost in our lives, so that at the end of this year we will see more of your life in us! Amen.
"I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing." -John 15:5

Todavía estoy orando y pensando acerca de este nuevo año que tenemos en frente. ¡Creo que está lleno de maravillosas oportunidades y aventuras! También estoy bastante segura que habrá retos y dificultades. Entonces, ¿cómo le sacamos el mejor provecho? ¿Están nuestros propósitos enfocados en lo que haremos o en quién nos convertiremos?
He aquí algunas preguntas en las que he estado pensando. Quizá sean útiles para ti también.
1) ¿A quién amaré?
¿Amaré al mundo y sus atracciones?
¿Amaré a aquellos que son difíciles de amar?
¿Amaré a quienes atesoran lo bueno y odian lo malo?
¿Amaré a Jesús primero y mejor?
2) ¿A quién escucharé?
¿Escucharé el ruido de los medios mundanos diciéndome constantemente qué pensar?
¿Escucharé las mentiras que Satanás susurra a mi alma?
¿Escucharé a aquellos que me dicen la verdad en amor?
¿Escucharé la voz de Dios por encima de todo lo demás?
3) ¿A quién serviré?
¿Serviré mis propios intereses egoístas?
¿Serviré a las expectativas que otros tienen de mí?
¿Serviré a Jesús con todo lo que soy?
¿Serviré a aquellos a mi alrededor con humildad?
La manera como respondamos estas preguntas determinará finalmente la respuesta a esta última pregunta –
En el 2017, ¿en quién me convertiré?
Me volveré como aquél a quien sirvo.
Me volveré como aquél a quien escucho.
Me volveré como aquél a quien más amo.
Señor Jesús, por favor guíanos en este nuevo año. Enséñanos a prestar atención a quién servimos, a quién escuchamos y a quién amamos. Que tú seas el primero y principal en nuestras vidas, ¡de manera que al final de este año veamos más de tu vida en nosotros! Amén
“Yo soy la vid, vosotros los pámpanos; el que permanece en mí, y yo en él, éste lleva mucho fruto; porque separados de mí nada podéis hacer.” –Jn. 15:5

Considering A New Year (Considerando un Nuevo Año)
"Be at rest once more, O my soul, for the LORD has been good to you." -Psalm 116:7
Happy New Year! I hope your year is off to a good start. I'm still not quite over the cold I got before Christmas, so it's been a slow start for me. However, being sick has given me a lot of time to reflect and pray.
2016 was an incredible year for me! At times it was exhausting, painful, confusing, frustrating and impossibly difficult. But it was also a year of much physical healing, of reconnecting with old friends and making new friends, of many desires fulfilled and seeing God do miracles big and small. It was a crazy year, yet so amazing!
As I look forward to 2017, I'm praying about many things.
I'm still asking God what He wants my theme for this year to be.
I'm praying He'll show me what my priorities should be.
Most of all I'm praying that He'll keep me close to Him whatever comes.

I believe God is able to do above and beyond what we ask or imagine! But sometimes we don't take enough time to stop to imagine possibilities and ask Him. Considerando un Nuevo Año
“Vuelve, oh alma mía, a tu reposo, Porque Jehová te ha hecho bien.” –Salmo 116:7
¡Feliz Año Nuevo! Espero que su año haya comenzado bien. Todavía no estoy completamente recuperada del resfriado que me comenzó antes de la navidad, así que para mí ha sido un comienzo lento. Sin embargo, estar enferma me ha dado mucho tiempo para reflexionar y orar.
¡El 2016 fue un año increíble para mí! A veces fue agotador, doloroso, confuso, frustrante e imposiblemente difícil. Pero también fue de mucha sanidad física, de reconectarme con viejos amigos y hacer nuevos, de muchos deseos cumplidos y ver a Dios hacer milagros grandes y pequeños. Fue un año loco, ¡pero tan increíble!
Mientras miro hacia el 2017, estoy orando por varias cosas.
Todavía estoy preguntándole a Dios que quiere Él que sea mi tema para este año.
Estoy orando que me muestre cuáles deben ser mis prioridades.
Por sobre todo, estoy orando que me mantenga cerca de Él sin importar lo que venga.

¡Creo que Dios puede hacer mucho más allá de lo que pidamos o imaginemos! Pero a veces no tomamos tiempo suficiente para detenernos a imaginar posibilidades y pedirle. Tengo la esperanza de que hagamos lo mejor de esta primera semana del nuevo año. ¡Pasemos algún tiempo con el Señor y permitamos que nos llene con Su visión y fe para nuestro año nuevo! =)

But it was also a year of much physical healing, of reconnecting with old friends and making new friends, of many desires fulfilled and seeing God do miracles big and small. It was a crazy year, yet so amazing!
As I look forward to 2017, I'm praying about many things.
I'm still asking God what He wants my theme for this year to be.
I'm praying He'll show me what my priorities should be.
Most of all I'm praying that He'll keep me close to Him whatever comes.

I believe God is able to do above and beyond what we ask or imagine! But sometimes we don't take enough time to stop to imagine possibilities and ask Him. I hope we'll all make the most of this first week of the new year. Let's spend some time with the Lord and let Him fill us with His vision and faith for our new year! =)

Considerando un Nuevo Año
“Vuelve, oh alma mía, a tu reposo, Porque Jehová te ha hecho bien.” –Salmo 116:7
¡Feliz Año Nuevo! Espero que su año haya comenzado bien. Todavía no estoy completamente recuperada del resfriado que me comenzó antes de la navidad, así que para mí ha sido un comienzo lento. Sin embargo, estar enferma me ha dado mucho tiempo para reflexionar y orar.
¡El 2016 fue un año increíble para mí! A veces fue agotador, doloroso, confuso, frustrante e imposiblemente difícil. Pero también fue de mucha sanidad física, de reconectarme con viejos amigos y hacer nuevos, de muchos deseos cumplidos y ver a Dios hacer milagros grandes y pequeños. Fue un año loco, ¡pero tan increíble!
Mientras miro hacia el 2017, estoy orando por varias cosas.
Todavía estoy preguntándole a Dios que quiere Él que sea mi tema para este año.
Estoy orando que me muestre cuáles deben ser mis prioridades.
Por sobre todo, estoy orando que me mantenga cerca de Él sin importar lo que venga.

Tengo la esperanza de que hagamos lo mejor de esta primera semana del nuevo año. ¡Pasemos algún tiempo con el Señor y permitamos que nos llene con Su visión y fe para nuestro año nuevo! =)

The Father Or Santa? (¿El Padre o Santa?)
My mom and I like to watch Christmas movies. A lot of Christmas movies now are about Santa and how even adults can still believe in him. It makes me wonder. Do we as Christians sometimes think of God as a little bit like Santa?
Santa lives far away at the North Pole.
He apparently sees everyone, but no one ever sees him.
He knows if you're good or bad, and he rewards you accordingly.
You can write letters to him, but the only way you know he's real is if you actually get what you asked him for.
We may not say these things out loud, but maybe we think them sometimes...that God is far away. That no one ever sees Him. That you have to be good to keep His approval. That you can pray to Him, but how do you know He's real unless He gives you what you ask of Him?
The reality is quite different however.
God is not far away. Jesus came to earth as Immanuel - God WITH us!
"The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call Him Immanuel" - which means, "God with us."
-Matthew 1:23
God now lives IN us through the Holy Spirit, which means I see Him every day - in His people and even when I look in the mirror. His presence at work in our lives is visible.
For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by Him we cry, "Abba, Father."
-Romans 8:15
God knows we can't ever be good enough on our own, that's why He sent Jesus to die for our sins and to give us His righteousness!
God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.
-2 Corinthians 5:21
God wrote us a beautiful letter, long before we thought about contacting Him. It's called the Bible. We can read it every day and hear God speaking to us through it.
Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'"
-Matthew 4:4
God already gave us the best gift ever - JESUS!
He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all - how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things?
-Romans 8:32
When Jesus came to earth, He revealed God as our heavenly Father -
a Father who is near to us
a Father who speaks to us
a Father who loves us regardless of our behavior
a Father who delights to give us good gifts every day
a Father who wants to have a close relationship with each of us!
I don't know about you, but I'd much rather believe what is true of God, that He is my heavenly Father - than believe some false idea of Him as a "Santa."
This Christmas, may we all be reminded that even with life's trials, we are greatly blessed! Because Jesus came, we have a heavenly Father.

A mi mamá y a mí nos gusta mirar películas de navidad. Ahora muchas de ellas son acerca de Santa y como aún los adultos todavía pueden creer en él. Me hace pensar, ¿Como cristianos a veces nos imaginamos a Dios un poquito como Santa?
Santa vive lejos en el Polo Norte.
Aparentemente él ve a todo el mundo, pero nunca nadie lo ve a él.
Él sabe si eres bueno o malo y te recompensa en consecuencia.
Puedes escribirle cartas, pero la única manera de que sepas que es real es si realmente obtienes lo que le pediste.
Puede que no digamos estas cosas en voz alta, pero quizá las pensamos a veces… que Dios está lejos. Que nunca nadie lo ve. Que tienes que ser bueno para mantener Su aprobación. Que puedes orarle, pero ¿cómo sabes que es real a menos que te dé lo que le pediste?
Sin embargo la realidad es muy diferente.
Dios no está lejos. Jesús vino al mundo como Emanuel - ¡Dios con nosotros!
“He aquí, una virgen concebirá y dará a luz un hijo, Y llamarás su nombre Emanuel, que traducido es: Dios con nosotros.”
-Mateo 1:23
Dios ahora vive EN nosotros a través del Espíritu Santo, lo que significa que lo veo todos los días – en Su gente e incluso cuando me miro en el espejo. Su presencia obrando en nuestras vidas es visible.
“Pues no habéis recibido el espíritu de esclavitud para estar otra vez en temor, sino que habéis recibido el espíritu de adopción, por el cual clamamos: ¡Abba, Padre!”
-Romanos 8:15
Dios sabe que nunca podemos ser suficientemente buenos por nosotros mismos, ¡es por eso que envió a Jesús a morir por nuestros pecados y darnos Su justicia!
“Al que no conoció pecado, por nosotros lo hizo pecado, para que nosotros fuésemos hechos justicia de Dios en él."
-2 Co. 5:21
Dios nos escribió una hermosa carta, mucho antes de que pensáramos en contactarlo. Se llama la Biblia. Podemos leerla todos los días y escuchar a Dios hablarnos a través de ella.
“Jesús respondió y dijo: Escrito está: No sólo de pan vivirá el hombre, sino de toda palabra que sale de la boca de Dios.”
-Mt. 4:4
Dios ya nos dio el mejor regalo posible - ¡Jesús!
“El que no escatimó ni a su propio Hijo, sino que lo entregó por todos nosotros, ¿cómo no nos dará también con él todas las cosas?”
-Ro. 8:32
Cuando Jesús vino a la tierra, Él reveló a Dios como nuestro Padre celestial –
un Padre que está cerca de nosotros
un Padre que nos habla
un Padre que nos ama a pesar de nuestra conducta
un Padre que se deleita en darnos buenos regalos cada día
¡un Padre que quiere tener una relación cercana con cada uno de nosotros!
No sé tú, pero yo prefiero creer lo que es cierto de Dios, que Él es mi Padre celestial – y no creer alguna idea falsa de Él como “Santa.”
Que esta navidad todos recordemos que aún con las pruebas de la vida, ¡somos grandemente bendecidos! Porque Jesús vino, tenemos un Padre celestial.

Smile And Dream (Sonríe y Sueña)
It's been a busy week! My new book arrived from the printer. It's exciting to finally have it in hand! I've been getting all the pre-orders packaged and mailed to people. Thanks for your prayers that it will be a blessing to many!
Anyway, today I thought I'd re-post something from a few years ago. I hope it makes you smile and gives you some encouragement today. =)

Dreams
I have a very imaginative dream life. Perhaps it's because for so long my real life was limited. Or maybe it's hidden creativity bursting through. =)
For whatever reason, rarely does a morning pass that I don't have some wild or entertaining dream to tell my mom about.
One time I dreamed I was eating my shoe. It was pretty tough, but I kept gnawing away. People around me were giving me strange looks. I just gazed back at them like, "What? Doesn't everyone eat shoes?"
Another time I dreamed I was in a chariot race, except instead of horses, my cart was pulled by four little dachshund dogs! I don't remember who won....
In another dream two well-known, professional tennis players both asked me for a date on the same day. ...I said no, gently of course. =)
Sometimes I have scary dreams about people I love and wake up praying for them and hoping they're ok.
And every once in a while, God gives me a dream that is a special gift from Him. Like the time I dreamed that everything and everyone around me was in utter chaos. Jesus stood in the middle of it. I walked over to Him, He held out his hands, and I put both my hands in His. I woke up encouraged to keep trusting Him and not hold on to anything but Him.
At different times my dreams are hilarious, scary, or sweet. Dreams are strange things. But God created them for our benefit, I believe.
I know dreams aren't reality. I think they can speak to us about reality though.
And those other dreams we have - those plans and desires for our future - they aren't real either...yet. But they're an important part of who we are, and who we will be.
And the best dream of all? You. Me.
C.S. Lewis wrote, "God is the Dreamer. And you are His dream."
God is ultimate reality. We are His imaginative, creative expressions to the world, revealing who He is.
So dream on, my friends, dream on. And never forget that as God's child, you are always "living the dream!"
"How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!" -Psalm 139:17-18 (NLT)

¡Fue una semana ocupada! Mi nuevo libro llegó de la editorial. ¡Es emocionante tenerlo en mi mano finalmente! He estado empacando y enviando a la gente sus pedidos. Gracias por sus oraciones para que sea ¡una bendición.
En todo caso, hoy pensé publicar de nuevo algo de hace algunos años. Confío en que les haga sonreir y les dé algo de ánimo hoy.

Sueños
Tengo una vida de sueños muy imaginativa. Quizá sea porque mi vida real es tan limitada. O puede ser creatividad escondida, irrumpiendo a la superficie.
Por cualquiera que sea la razón, muy rara vez pasa una mañana sin que yo tenga un sueño salvaje o entretenido para contarle a mi mamá.
Una vez soñé que me estaba comiendo mi zapato. Estaba bastante duro, pero yo seguía royendo. La gente a mi alrededor estaba mirándome de manera extraña. Yo simplemente les devolvía la mirada como diciendo: “¿Qué? ¿Todos los demás no comen zapatos?”
Otra vez soñé que estaba en una competencia de carruajes, solamente que en lugar de caballos, ¡el mío era tirado por dos pequeños perritos salchicha! No me acuerdo quien ganó.
En otro sueño, dos famosos jugadores profesionales de tenis me pidieron salir con ellos el mismo día. . . Yo dije no, gentilmente por supuesto.
A veces tengo sueños asustadores acerca de personas a las que amo y me despierto orando por ellos y confiando en que estén bien.
Y una que otra vez, Dios me da un sueño que es un regalo especial de Él. Como la vez que soñé que todo y todos a mi alrededor estaba en total caos. Jesús se paró en medio de ése. Yo caminé hacia Él, Él extendió Sus manos, y yo puse mis manos en las suyas. Me desperté animada a seguir confiando en Él y no aferrarme a ninguna cosa sino a él.
En diferentes ocasiones mis sueños son cómicos, asustadores, o tiernos. Los sueños son una cosa extraña. Pero Dios los creó para nuestro beneficio, creo yo.
Sé que los sueños no son realidad. Pero creo que nos pueden hablar acerca de la realidad.
Y esos otros sueños que tenemos – esos planes y deseos para nuestro futuro – tampoco son reales. . . todavía. Pero son una parte importante de quienes somos y quienes seremos.
¿Y el mejor sueño de todos? Tú. Yo.
Como escribió C. S. Lewis: “Dios es el Soñador. Y tú eres Su sueño.”
Dios es realidad. Nosotros somos sus expresiones creativas e imaginativas para el mundo, revelando quien Él es.
Entonces, soñemos mis amigos, soñemos. Y nunca olvides que como hijo de Dios siempre estás “¡viviendo el sueño!”
“Cuán preciosos son tus pensamientos acerca de mí, oh Dios. ¡No se pueden enumerar! Ni siquiera puedo contarlos; ¡Superan en número a los granos de arena! Y cuando me despierto, ¡todavía estás conmigo!" -Salmo 139:17-18 (NLT)
