Hold Unswervingly (Mantengámonos Firmes)

"Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful." -Hebrews 10:23

Has God given you a promise?
Have you waited a long time to see it fulfilled?
Do you sometimes feel like giving up?
Are you tempted to wander off course?
Is it hard to hold on to faith?

If you answered yes to these questions, know that you're not alone.

We all have promises from God.
We all go through the waiting season.
We all feel weary at times and wonder if it's worth holding on to God's Word.

This verse from Hebrews continues to speak to me in my own challenges. The author encourages us to "hold unswervingly" to our hope.

Unswervingly means we don't go veering off to the right or the left. We don't release our grip of faith. We may sit down and cry at times, but we don't stay there. We get back up and take another step of faith.

Why?

Because the One who promised is faithful!

God has given a multitude of promises to His people throughout the generations. And not one has failed. They have ALL been fulfilled in God's perfect way and time.

We know God's promises are sure. Yet in our humanity, sometimes it seems so hard to press on in hope. Perhaps that's why the writer of Hebrews said, "Let us...." We need each other on this journey.

I need you to remind me that God is faithful. You need me to encourage you that God keeps His promises.

Whether God's promise will be fulfilled or not isn't the question. We know every promise will come to pass. God cannot fail.

The question is, will we "hold unswervingly" to our hope as we wait?

Even in this, we aren't on our own... "for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose" (Phil. 2:13).

The same God who gave us the promise, will give us the grace and strength to keep believing the promise. Jesus enables us to hold unswervingly to Him, as He faithfully holds on to us. Praise His name!

So be of good cheer! Keep your eyes on the one who is Faithful. And you will see your promise fulfilled.

He. 10:23

¿Te ha dado Dios una promesa?
¿Has esperado largo tiempo para verla cumplida?
