Fruit In Season (Fruto de Temporada)

But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on His law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. -Psalm 1:2-3

My mom loves to garden and to plant things. She's cultivated her little piece of sod beautifully. Now that spring is here, we're enjoying the fruit of her labor. Everything is green or blooming - oak tree, magnolia tree, roses, bougainvillea, plumbago, hibiscus, Japanese iris, and more.

With all the color and beauty on display in our yard, it's easy to see how all mom's work of planting and cultivating was worth it.

But I think sometimes we forget that we also go through seasons in our personal lives. It's hard to persevere in certain areas when we don't see any fruit. That's why Psalm 1:3 encourages me so much. It says that the one who meditates on God's Word day and night, yields "fruit in season."

Our part is to persevere by God's grace in what He's called us to do. God's part is to determine our seasons and to produce the fruit.

I'm thankful God has given us such vivid pictures in creation of what the seasons look like. After a dry, barren winter, it's so encouraging to see plants bursting into bloom and trees fresh and green again.

Whatever we go through, let us daily draw from Jesus, the Living Water. And let us press on in hope - not because we see results, but because by faith we know God is faithful, and the season of fruit will come. Hallelujah!

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. -Galatians 6:9

-Ga. 6:9
